I wish to apply for more than one M. Tech. programme at IIT Palakkad in 2026. What do i need to do?

Yes, candidates may apply for multiple M. Tech. programmes, provided they meet the minimum eligibility criteria specified for each programme.

Applicants must submit separate applications for each programme they wish to apply to. A separate application fee must also be paid for each application. The corresponding transaction details must be provided, and proof of payment must be uploaded with each submission.

Please note that if multiple applications are submitted using the same payment reference and supporting document, only one application will be considered by the institute, and the remaining applications will be rejected.

What is the fee for applying to various M. Tech. programmes at IIT Palakkad

I paid twice due to transaction failure. How do I get back the excess fees paid?

If any applicant has paid the application fee more than once, due to technical issues and the same has also been deducted from his/her bank account, then the excess fees paid by the applicant will be refunded. In order to get the refund, the applicant has to write an email to mpst.palakkad@sbi.co.in with the following details: name, application number, transaction reference numbers with proof of payments made, date and time of remittances. Refunds will be initiated upon verification of the details sent by the candidate and ideally this may take 10 working days from the date of receipt of mail.

What are the valid supporting documents for Date of Birth?

Original Birth Certificate, Certificate of Class Xth with the Date of Birth mentioned in it.

 

Can I pay the registration fee by a demand draft (DD) or Cheque?

No. The payment should be made online only. There is no provision for payment through DD or Cheque or any other mode.

Can I submit Class X marksheet or certificate as proof of Date of Birth (DoB)?

If DoB is mentioned in the Class X marksheet or certificate, you may do so.

 

I have three valid GATE scorecards of GATE 2026 / 2025 / 2024 for the same paper. Which score card shall I use?

It is advisable to register with information related to the highest GATE Score.

I am trying to fill in the PG 2026 admission form. However, while filling in my specialization and GATE Paper, I am not able to get some choices!


The specializations are displayed by matching the Background Degree, Discipline and GATE papers as per the list given. If the desired choice is not appearing, that means that the combination of the above three is not available. Since the available combinations cannot be changed, candidates are advised to study the PG Admission 2026-27 Brochure carefully to identify suitable choices with eligibility criteria.

Do I need to send any document/print-out of the filled in application to IIT Palakkad?

I am a final year student and I haven't obtained my qualifying degree certificate. What are the qualifying certificates that I have to upload?

If you are in the final semester/final year and you haven't obtained a qualifying degree certificate, then upload your latest semester’s/last year’s mark sheet/grade sheet as proof of qualification. The Provisional certificate/Degree Certificate should be submitted to the Institute before the deadline indicated by the Insitute.

 

Am I eligible to apply for the M. Tech. programme through PG admission 2026 only with GATE?

I do not find my qualifying discipline in the appropriate list given in the drop down menu of the application form.
